1,3-Butanediol is a colorless and transparent liquid with excellent compatibility, offering a refreshing and smooth skin feel. It is primarily used as a humectant and solvent.

2.Good hygroscopicity
1,3-Butanediol exhibits good hygroscopicity, capable of absorbing water equivalent to 12.5% of its own mass at 50% relative humidity and 38.5% at 80% relative humidity.

3.Versatile Applications
1,3-butanediol possesses antimicrobial properties. The minimum inhibitory concentrations (MIC) for various microorganisms are as follows:
Pneumococcus Type I, Streptococcus Type C, and Streptococcus Type A: 5% by mass.
Staphylococcus: 15% by mass.
